From The Daily Post, today’s prompt is “pick a random word and do Google image search on it. Check out the eleventh picture it brings up. Write about whatever that image brings to mind.”
Gratitude. Having honor and being thankful. As humans, we have the power to be kind and do right, and live in simple harmony with one another. When one lives with true gratitude, their overall health is often more spectacular than someone who may not stop to smell the roses – or any pretty flower, for that matter.
Offering a smile to a flustered mother on a gloomy day may end up saving her from having a melt-down directed toward her children. Opening a door for someone older than you reminds people that there is hope in the world. Looking your checkout clerk in the eye and saying “thank you” reminds them that we’re all in this world together and their work is just as important as ours. These are just a small few of the many things that can brighten someone’s day. In a country that claims freedom, we often times forget to be grateful.
So, smile every day. Say thank you. Forgive those who have hurt you. Breathe. Be grateful you are alive.
