Books to Read in 2016

  1. The Goldfinch, Donna Tartt
  2. How To Be A Woman, Caitlin Moran
  3. Once A Runner, John L. Parker
  4. The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Phoebe Gloeckner
  5. Reservation Blues, Sherman Alexie
  6. She’s Not There, Jennifer Finney Boylan
  7. Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins
  8. Mockingjay, Suzanne Collins
  9. I Still Dream About You, Fannie Flagg
  10. The Receptionist, Janet Groth
  11. Alanna, The First Adventure, Tamora Pierce (a re-read, first read sometime between age 8-10)
  12. The Road of Lost Innocence, Somaly Mam
  13. Dirty Love, Andre Dubus III
  14. Self-Made Man, Norah Vincent
  15. The All Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion, Fannie Flagg
  16. Another Insane Devotion, Peter Trachtenberg

This list is a work in progress and in no particular order. It’ll be updated every year. I will be adding to it when I sort out my bookshelf and possibly if I purchase and/or receive any more books. I love the idea of possibly writing Young Adult fiction. Along with  re-reading YA books, I am reading some others for the first time, just to get an idea of what kind of voice and language is most effective.
